MedStar Prompt Care offers medical care for most illnesses and injuries as well as physicals for school sports participation, summer camp and pre-employment physicals. The physicians of MedStar PromptCare provide care to people of all ages and no appointment is ever needed. We provide convenient and coordinated care when you need it, from a name you can trust.
What Is Urgent Care?
Urgent care centers provide walk-in, extended hour access to medical care for acute illness and injury. These centers can provide care that is beyond the scope or availability of the typical primary care practice or retail clinic. MedStar PromptCare will communicate with the patient’s primary care physician, while helping them get the care they need, when they need it.
When Should You Come to MedStar PromptCare?
- If your primary care physician’s office is closed or is unable to see you.
We will communicate back to your primary care physician so your care with us becomes a part of your medical record.
- If you have any non-life threatening injury or illness during the day, after business hours or on a weekend or holiday.
- If you have a minor injury and you don’t want to wait in an Emergency Room for treatment.
- If you suspect you or your child may have a concussion after a sports related accident.
- If you need a flu shot and it is the appropriate time to receive this immunization.
- If you need a physical for sports participation, summer camp, or pre-employment.
StarPass Medical Discount Program-Save up to 50% on services!
StarPass is available to MedStar PromptCare patients who do not have insurance, have a high deductible, or have gaps in insurance coverage. Membership in this program provides discounts on standard MedStar PromptCare services. There are two options for this program, Blue Level and Gold Level and membership is valid for one year. StarPass is not insurance but provides significant discounts on the services provided at MedStar PromptCare.

Call Ahead Program
MedStar PromptCare offers patients the opportunity to wait at home or elsewhere. We understand that your time is valuable and when you are injured or ill, a waiting room may not always the most comfortable place. Patients who utilize the Wait at Home option will be contacted approximately 30 minutes prior to the time in which they can be seen. Wait at Home is available Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm (up to two hours prior to our closing time) and Saturday, Sunday, holidays 8am to 2pm. If you are seeking care and it is less than two hours prior to our closing time, we encourage you to come to the clinic for same-day care. If you call ahead, we will be waiting for you when you arrive.
Please note, while we will make every effort to accurately estimate wait times, this is not a guarantee. Emergency situations may impact your wait time.
