About the Provider

Andrew Abramowitz, MD, who sees patients at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, and in Westminster, which is convenient for residents of Carroll, Frederick and Howard counties, is an orthopaedic surgeon board certified in orthopaedic surgery and fellowship trained in pediatric orthopaedics and limb lengthening and deformity.

Dr. Abramowitz treats patients from birth through adolescence, and provides care for conditions both common (fractures and sports injuries) and complex (hip dysplasia and neuromuscular spasticity disorders, such as cerebral palsy). He also treats stroke and traumatic brain injury in children. During his consultations, Dr. Abramowitz fully explains patients' conditions and helps them choose an appropriate treatment plan.

Dr. Abramowitz has practiced in the community since 2003 and is the author of numerous publications and presentations. His philosophy is to treat children not just as small adults but as individuals who are part of a family and social network.
