Dr. Sittambalam received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, where she was appointed to the position of associate chief medical resident in her third year. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in geriatrics at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Sittambalam has published papers on various research topics, most recently regarding the management of delirium in the ICU setting.
Dr. Sittambalam plans to establish an outpatient geriatric primary care and consultation center, as well as continue her research efforts to improve the quality of care of geriatric patients. She will provide specialty consultation for the full range of geriatric problems, including but not limited to dementia, falls, and medication management.
