Heather Hartman-Hall, PhD, joined the Department of Medicine team as director of Behavioral Science Training. She obtained her PhD in clinical psychology from American University in Washington, DC, and completed the APA-accredited psychology internship at Springfield Hospital Center.
Her previous clinical experience includes work at a state psychiatric facility, nursing homes, and outpatient treatment, as well as evaluation and treatment of clients from teenagers to older adults. Dr. Hall directed a doctoral internship in clinical psychology for five years and brings a wealth of experience in supervising and teaching.
Her areas of expertise include assessment, psychological trauma, mindfulness, and clinician self-care, and working with older adults. Dr. Hall offers behavioral health consultation in the Primary Care Center and provides education and training in mental health topics for the Internal Medicine Residency program.
