About me

Dr. Joel Rosenberg is a board certified cardiologist with MedStar Cardiology Associates.  He specializes in consultative cardiology, preventive cardiology, sleep medicine, and integrative medicine. For most of his career, Dr. Rosenberg also practiced as a board certified interventional cardiologist, an experience that provided a unique insight into the relationship of cardiovascular biology and the clinical presentation of cardiovascular disease.  Dr. Rosenberg’s incorporation of sleep medicine into his practice has complemented his holistic approach to the prevention, early detecton and treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Rosenberg attended medical school at Tulane University.  He completed his residency in internal medicine in the Georgetown Division at the District of Columbia General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cardiology in the Georgetown Division at the Washington, DC, Veterans Administration Hospital.  Dr. Rosenberg is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Medical Society of the District of Columbia, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy of Cardiovascular Sleep Medicine.

Philosophy of Care

“I see each patient as a person whose mind, body, and spirit are uniquely and intimately intertwined, not as a collection of problems.  Although the patient's presenting concern may be a particular symptom, the goal is always to assure that the patient's overall cardiovascular and/or sleep-related health are optimally evaluated and treated."

Dr. Rosenberg took a model of a heart and very carefully and fully explained what a minor valve leak was and how I should not be concerned. It was VERY helpful
