About the Provider

Dr. Maryam Sarraf Yazdy is a fellowship-trained, board-certified medical hematologist/oncologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. She specializes in detecting, monitoring, and treating adult blood cancers – specifically chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL) and indolent lymphomas. She offers advanced and highly specialized care, including chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and clinical trials.

Dr. Yazdy collaborates with a team of experts to develop a personalized treatment plan that helps determine the most effective treatment options. In the spirit of cura personalis, or care of the whole person, she partners with social workers, nutritionists, the arts and humanities program, and survivorship specialists to provide additional support.

Her research focuses on the development of novel therapies, designing and conducting studies for patients with CLL and indolent lymphomas, and innovative methods of monitoring response to therapy.
