About the Provider

Board-certified in both nephrology and internal medicine, Dr. Grafals specializes in kidney transplantation and kidney failure in solid organ transplantation. Her patients include those who have received a kidney transplant, are on the waiting list to receive a transplant or want to be added to the list.

A frequent lecturer and widely published in clinical journals, Dr. Grafals' advanced training includes a Master's in Public Health from Harvard following a transplant fellowship at Northwestern University and one in nephrology at Drexel Medical School in New York.

Dr. Grafals earns high marks from patients for her ability to explain things well and provide easy-to-understand instruction, critical in dealing with patients who are often anxious and overwhelmed by their conditions. As a native of Puerto Rico, Dr. Grafals enjoys speaking Spanish with both her local patients and those who have traveled across the world for care, as many patients are more comfortable speaking in their primary language.
