Dr. Ahmed has a "patient-first" philosophy, treating all patients with compassion and kindness, as if they were family. He believes strongly in the early detection and treatment of heart disease, as these can mean a longer, fuller and more active life for his patients. Dr. Ahmed encourages management of 'controllable' risk factors€” such as weight, diet, activity level and smoking which are crucial to good heart health. He also stresses the importance of recognizing the symptoms of heart disease. Dr. Ahmed cautions his patients to take chest pain seriously and seek care immediately.

His participation in numerous clinical trials enables him to help bring new, life-changing treatments to his patients. Dr. Ahmed has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Cardiology, British Heart Journal and the American Heart Journal.
