The Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery, provides a variety of programs to the undergraduate medical student. Clinical conferences on selected topics, correlated with basic science instruction, are given in the pre-clinical curriculum. Third-year students may select a two-week clerkship in the department as partial fulfillment of the six-week requirement in the surgical specialties. During this clerkship, students participate in a broad range of otolaryngology services, including surgery, and inpatient and outpatient management. Specialized skills in head and neck physical examination will be stressed.
Information on 4th year rotations, including an application for both MedStar Georgetown and visiting students, can be found at the Georgetown University School of Medicine website.
