The Integrated Training Program in Plastic Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is a six-year program. The program is set up to admit residents at the PGY-1 level to complete six years of training. The first three years, which includes ten months total in plastic surgery, focus on general surgery training while the last three years focus on plastic surgery specifically. As of March 21, 2018, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has approved an expansion of the integrated plastic surgery residency program. The complement of the program has increased from 18 residents to 24 residents. In March of 2019, the program matched four PGY-1 residents.
