Maggie Arnold

Margaret Arnold, MD, FACS

Maggie Arnold, MD, is a vascular surgeon. She is joining Medstar Baltimore as the Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program. She is thrilled to able to work with the support and dedication of the MedStar team and lead this outstanding group of residents. She comes to us from Johns Hopkins University where she was an Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery and served as the Associate Program Director for 5 years. During her tenure at Johns Hopkins, she worked to develop a Resident Wellness Program and feels strongly about the integration of wellness into resident education.

Her passion for resident education has led her to pursue a Master’s in Health Professions Education through the University of Illinois Chicago. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and completed her general surgery residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She went on to do a vascular fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Vinay Gupta, MD, FACS

After receiving his Medical Degree from University of Maryland, Dr. Gupta completed his general surgery residency at Medical College of Georgia and his fellowship training in Surgical Oncology at University of Chicago. His practice involves general surgery, surgical oncology, and endocrine surgery. He is a committee member of the Commission on Cancer–Maryland Chapter.

David Lisle

David Lisle, MD

Surgical Attending, Colorectal Surgeon

Dr. Lisle is a colorectal surgeon with specialized interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine and then went on to complete a general surgery residency program at Columbia University—New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he served as Chief Surgery Resident for Robotic Surgery. Prior to joining MedStar Franklin Square’s team, he pursued a colorectal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, learning novel, advanced laparoscopic techniques.

Dr. Lisle has served in numerous leadership and teaching roles throughout his training experience and has also contributed to several medical research projects focused protocols and best practices relative to complex colorectal surgery cases.

Alain Abdo

Alain Abdo, MD 

Surgical Attending, General Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Surgery

Dr. Abdo earned his medical degree at Lebanese University and then relocated to the Baltimore area, where he pursued training and a bariatric/minimally invasive fellowship program at Saint Agnes Hospital. During that time, he pursued clinical rotations at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, the University of Maryland Medical Center, and MedStar Franklin Square, building his knowledge and expertise in the areas of general surgery, pediatrics, trauma, transplant surgery, and burn care.

Additionally, Dr. Abdo has demonstrated a solid commitment to his field through conducting, publishing and presenting medical research. Dr. Abdo is a member of the American College of Surgeons. He is fluent in English, French, and Arabic.

Rebekah Campbell

Rebekah Campbell, MD

Rebekah Campbell, MD, FACS, is an Endocrine Surgeon at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. She is a member of the American Association for Endocrine Surgeons and the American Thyroid Association. She treats patients with thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, and small bowel neuroendocrine tumors. She enjoys establishing meaningful relationships with her patients and colleagues.

Dr. Campbell serves as the site director for the Fourth Year General Surgery Acting Internship rotation at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. Medical education is one of her passions. She is also the Wellness Champion for the General Surgery residency program.

Dr. Campbell obtained her medical degree from St. George’s University, and then completed General Surgery residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She then completed Endocrine Surgery fellowship at Baylor-Scott and White in Temple, TX.

Maen Farha, MD, FACS

Director of Breast Surgery

Dr. Farha is a breast surgeon who specializes in non-cancerous and cancerous breast disease. He completed his medical school at American University of Beirut then joined Medstar Union Memorial Hospital General Surgery Residency Program. He has extensive experience in breast-conserving surgery and performing minimally invasive breast biopsies, including but not limited to stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided biopsies. He has presented his work at nationally at multiple breast cancer forums.

Jeffery Ferris, MD, FACS

Surgical Attending, General and Colorectal Surgery

Dr. Ferris graduated from University of Maryland School of Medicine and then completed his general surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Ferris then completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery. His practice includes gastrointestinal and hernia surgery as well as colorectal and endoscopic procedures.

Jennifer Jolley, MD

Dr. Jolley obtained her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, and then completed a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is board certified in general surgery and her clinical interests are general and minimally invasive surgery as well as endoscopy.

Suzanne Kool

Suzanne Siefert Kool, MD

Suzanne Kool, MD, is a vascular surgeon at MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute with office hours at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Kool specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of arterial and venous disease. This includes aortic aneurysms and dissections, carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, limb salvage, and venous insufficiency. As a vascular surgeon, she uses medical treatments, endovascular or minimally invasive techniques, as well as open surgical techniques to manage and treat diseases of the vascular system Dr. Kool received her medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School. She then completed a general surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she also completed an NIH-funded research fellowship in their Center for Vascular and Inflammatory Disease. Finally, she did a fellowship in vascular surgery at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center before joining MedStar. Dr. Kool has published and presented nationally on vascular diseases.

Zachary Martin

David Zachary Martin, MD

Dr. Martin is a plastic surgeon for MedStar Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, practicing at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Martin earned his medical degree at Georgetown University and completed a five-year residency at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. He has served in executive roles at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital since 2006.

Dr. Martin currently serves as the President of Medical Staff, Medical Director of the Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing Center (Healogics), Chief of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Attending Plastic Surgeon at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dr. Martin also maintains his role as attending plastic surgeon at The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Institute in Baltimore, MD, where he treats a broad range of patients in facial, hand, trunk, and lower extremity reconstruction. Lower extremity surgery includes the ankles and feet, a sub-specialty in which Dr. Martin has expertise.

Michael Matsuura, MD

Dr. Matsuura comes to us from the University of Maryland VA Maryland Medical Center R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He has actively served with the United States Air Force as a general surgeon and clinical assistant professor since 2009. In 2013, his surgical team was deployed to Ghazni, Afghnistan. He recently separated from the Air Force at the rank of Lt. Colonel.

Dr. Matsuura received his medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, IA followed by two general surgery residencies: at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, HI and at the New Jersey Medical School University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, NJ, where he also served as administrative chief resident. He has presented at multiple conferences and symposiums and his clinical expertise includes advanced laparoscopic techniques, splenectomy, herniorrhaphy, hepatobiliary, complex wound management, and trauma.

Ed McCarron

Edward McCarron, MD, FACS

Dr. McCarron obtained his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York. His practice involves both surgical oncology and endocrine surgery.

David Nasrallah

David Nasrallah, MD, FACS, FICS, CNSP

Dr. Nasrallah completed his medical school at American University of Beirut and his Surgical Training at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He completed fellowships in Critical Care and Trauma as well as Sports Medicine at the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He specializes in the treatment of hernia, breast surgery, as well as a wide range of gastrointestinal procedures. Dr. Nasrallah has more than thirty years of experience in the surgical field.

Raghuveer Vallabhaneni

Raghuveer Vallabhaneni, MD, FACS

He is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon who is board certified in both vascular surgery and general surgery. Most recently, Dr. Vallabhaneni served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery at the University of North Carolina. Experienced in all forms of endovascular and open surgery, including minimally invasive, as well as in the medical management of vascular issues, Dr. Vallabhaneni can offer his patients the full range of available diagnostic and treatment options. He also has specific expertise in treating complex aortic disease and has developed a national reputation in this field.

He completed a research fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and his clinical vascular surgery fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He trained in general surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Vallabhaneni's research interests are focused on patient outcomes related to the latest advances in vascular surgery. He has been the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials related to various treatment modalities.

Dr. Vallabhaneni is published widely, including book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and has been an invited speaker at both regional and national vascular surgery conferences.

Jeremy Weiner MD, FACS

Dr. Weiner received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He then completed his general surgical residency at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital. Dr. Weiner performs the full range of general surgery, including disease of the breast, colorectal disease, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. He has many years of experience with resident training and education.

Christopher Jamyn You, MD

Christopher You, MD, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon in Baltimore, MD. He obtained his medical degree from Georgia Regents University. He completed his residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He completed fellowships at Northwest Hospital Center and Sinai Hospital. Dr. You is co-medical director of the comprehensive Robotic Surgery Program at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
