Application Information—The MedStar Health—Washington Hospital Center Fellowship Program in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology

The advanced heart failure fellowship program accepts two fellows annually.

Applicants must have completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease in the United States or Canada, and must be board eligible or board certified in cardiovascular disease.

Should you require work authorization to be in the United States, please note that we sponsor only J visas. 

For applications for the 2022-2023 academic year, we will be accepting applications through ERAS and matching through NRMP as follows: 

Timeline for Fellows Commencing AHF/TC training in July 2022

  • June 2021: AHFTC Programs post positions and applicants can register
  • July 2021: AHFTC applicants apply to fellowship programs
  • July 2021: AHFTC programs start receiving applications
  • August - October 2021: Applicant screening and interviews
  • November 2021: Match list submitted by applicants and programs
  • Early December 2021: Match Day
