Resident Life in Pictures

Residency is so much easier when your co-residents and faculty are like a second family. Here at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, we pride ourselves on a healthy work/life balance and working together as a team to learn and provide patient care.

Washington, D.C. is a dynamic and exciting town for young adults to live in! After stagnation in the late 80s and early 90s, D.C. has been experiencing vibrant growth and development. The population has grown from 601,723 in 2010 to 705,749 in 2019.

D.C. has become a terrific place to live, work and play. Dynamic entertainment, cultural and commercial areas are interspersed with quiet residential streets and parks. The majesty of the carefully sculpted classical structures of the Nation's Mall and Monuments are complemented by the natural scenic beauty of Rock Creek Park and the Potomac.

The MedStar Washington Hospital Center campus is located in Northwest Washington, D.C. just on the edge of the Northeast. It is on the same campus as the VA Medical Center, Children's National Medical Center, and National Rehabilitation Hospital. Just to the east is Catholic University, and just to the west is Howard University. The areas to the North and South are primarily residential.
