Residency Applicant Information | Residency Program in Podiatric Surgery | MedStar Health
Residents in MedStar Health's Podiatric Surgery Residency Program give a thumbs up as they prepare for surgery.

Applicants to the Podiatric Surgery program at MedStar Health must apply through the Centralized Application Service for Podiatric Residencies (CASPR). Once received, the application review committee reviews the materials. Applications that are selected for an interview are forwarded to the residency interview committee. Our minimum GPA is 3.2 and minimum class ranking is top 50%.

This committee interviews candidates at the CRIP site. Applicants are then ranked and matched according to the CASPR system. Matched candidates are notified on the official match date by the CASPR organization.

We encourage student visitation during the year, and we strongly encourage interested students to extern at the hospital for a month. Please contact our program manager at least 30 days in advance of the date of your intended visit. Although neither of these activities is required in order to be considered for a residency position, it is always helpful to have had some prior exposure to the hospital before applying.
