Elizabeth Selden, MD

Dr. Selden is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Assistant Program Director for Global Health. Following graduation from Cornell University, she worked as a 3rd grade teacher through Teach for America. She later pursued a Masters in Social Work at University of California, Los Angeles and ultimately a Medical Degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at New York University, following which she worked as an attending physician at Bellevue Hospital in New York City where she served as Director of Primary Care at the Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture.

She joined Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in 2015 where she works with residents and sees patients in the General Internal Medicine Faculty Practice. She has worked with the MedStar Global Health Track since 2017 and serves as Director of the DC-based Global Health Track. Dr. Selden is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and serves on the Scientific Planning Committee for the ACP Annual Meeting.
