Sports Performance at Lafayette Centre is part of a multidisciplinary and highly integrated team focused on enhancing the lives of everyone we can work with. By bringing together a team of exercise physiologists, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and physicians under one roof, we can better address the functional demands of each client. We provide athletic development training for the youth and recreational athlete as well as comprehensive high performance training for the elite athlete.
We will build a program around YOU. We utilize state-of-the-art motion capture, force plates, and wearable technology coupled with expertise from distinguished exercise physiologists, biomechanists, and sports medicine physicians to achieve your goals. MedStar Health is the exclusive healthcare provider for eight professional sports teams (including the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals). Sports Performance at Lafayette Centre is a new state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of the nation's capital. Located in Building 1, the MedStar Health Orthopaedic & Sports Center serves as an international destination offering athletes world-class healthcare and sports performance services. In addition, the Center offers District residents and commuters the flexibility to obtain trusted, high-quality care at one convenient, patient-centered location.
MedStar Sport and Human Performance Morning Fitness Classes are all designed to get you up and moving, challenging your total body and optimize your movement for a healthier more active lifestyle. In addition to getting a great workout during our classes, you will walk out our doors ready to move and take on whatever life throws at you.
Burn: This is a moderate to high intensity class. A total body workout that keeps you moving the whole hour. Using a combination of light resistance training and High Intensity Interval Training we will rev our metabolism and prime the body for fat loss. Tuesday/Thursday 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday 6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Vitality: While you will still be up and moving in Vitality, this is a lower intensity day, geared towards finding new ranges of motion, flushing metabolic waste and rejuvenating the muscles. A perfect class to start the week with or fit in between Burn or Power Monday/Friday 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Power: This is a moderate to high intensity class. In Power you will challenge and enhance global fundamental movement patterns through external resistance and high speed movements. Whether your goal is to build muscle, burn fat or increase strength this class is for you. Tuesday/Thursday 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Wednesday 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
