Nathan Barbo, FACHE
Nathan Barbo, FACHE serves as the vice president of Operations at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.  In this role, he provides executive leadership to teams in Clinical Support Services, Physician Practices and Operational Support.  Based at the hospital in Olney, Nathan also works with colleagues across the MedStar Health system to integrate service lines and operations seamlessly for better patient care.  Prior to joining MedStar Montgomery, Nathan was the director of Operations for Digestive Disease Associates and began his career at MedStar Harbor Hospital as a Summer intern, where he later completed an Administrative Fellowship in 2012. 

An alumnus of the University of North Carolina, Nathan earned a Masters of Healthcare Administration, with a concentration in Finance.  His undergraduate degree is in Healthcare Management from the Ohio State University, where he also studied Economics.  Nathan is board-certified as a Fellow in Healthcare Administration by the American College of Healthcare Executives, whose Maryland chapter Regent awarded him the “Early Careerist” award in 2018.

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys traveling, running, biking, exploring new restaurants and volunteering with several nonprofits in his community.  He spends time with Honor Flight, Summit Community Health, Cornerstone Community Housing and the United Way of Central Maryland.  Indebted to many generous leaders who continue to guide him, Nathan enjoys working with students and early careerists who are beginning their journey in healthcare administration.
