Nancy Bruce, RN, serves as vice president of Operations, MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI) at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Her responsibilities include the strategic and operational leadership for Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Non-Invasive Cardiology, EKG/Telemetry, and MHVI Ambulatory Services at both the Hospital Center and at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Bruce is the MHVI nursing liaison to MedStar Health, and facilitates standardization of the MHVI clinical nursing practice. In collaboration with the chief of Cardiology, she works to standardize MHVI physician and provider operational oversight, and establishes goals and initiatives for her teams. As a key member of the executive leadership team, she is responsible for revenue cycle management, supply chain oversight, and performance improvement efforts for MHVI.
Bruce returned to the Hospital Center in 2015, after nine years as director of cardiac and vascular services at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD. In that role, Bruce oversaw the hospital’s certification by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Systems Services as a Cardiac Interventional Center, recognition by Healthgrades™ as a 5-Star Recipient for Coronary Interventional Procedures and Heart Failure, and a Joint Commission Top Performer for Heart Attack Care and Heart Failure.
Bruce earned her BSN from the University of Maryland, and her Masters in Business Administration from Loyola University in MD.
