About me

Dr. Michael Reilly's passion for understanding and treating conditions of the human face are a perfect match for his role at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as a Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery. His clinical areas of expertise include:

  • Rhinoplasty
  • Nasal and sinus surgery
  • Facial cosmetic surgery, including the full spectrum of minimally invasive treatments
  • Facial nerve paralysis
  • Microvascular reconstructive surgery
  • Melanoma surgery

Dr. Reilly's training began with undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went on to complete his five-year residency in Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery at Georgetown University. Subsequently, Dr. Reilly completed a very prestigious fellowship in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles Medical Center before returning home to Washington, D.C. in 2009. Dr. Reilly is board certified in both Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

In addition to his very busy clinical practice based at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Dr. Reilly serves as a Professor of Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center.  He takes a very active role in medical research and education. He has authored and contributed to numerous original articles and book chapters, and he takes pride in his role teaching medical students and resident physicians at Georgetown. He speaks Spanish conversationally and enjoys volunteering through MedStar Georgetown's participation with the Catholic Charities Network--an organization which provides care to the uninsured.

Dr. Reilly's Philosophy of Care
Michael J. Reilly, MD, feels truly fortunate to practice the art and science of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He feels this is the ideal intersection of his interpersonal understanding, intellectual aptitude, surgical expertise, and aesthetic sensibility. Dr. Reilly recognizes that appearance plays a critical role in the way individuals experience the world, and he also believes that facial wellness comes in many forms. He prides himself on tailoring treatments to work with each patient's natural facial features. He firmly believes that for both cosmetic and reconstructive reasons, facial enhancement and rejuvenation can contribute to an improved sense of self and well-being. Dr. Reilly and his team are committed to helping you look and feel your absolute best.
