Soo Bang, MHSA, is a senior director, Business Development & Global Alliances at the Celgene Corporation, where she manages long-term relationships between Celgene and its corporate partners and is responsible for contracts and deliverables. Ms. Bang has nearly 20 years of consulting, healthcare, and clinical research experience in academic medical centers, hospitals, physician groups and pharmaceutical and biotechnology settings. Prior to her work at Celgene, she led teams involved in sponsored clinical research at Pfizer, Inc.
In her work at Pfizer, Ms. Bang contributed to negotiations of site agreements and budgets for Pfizer-sponsored U.S. (Phase I-IV) studies. Also at Pfizer, she led the contracts group for investigator-initiated research, responsible for the negotiation and modification of grants, research services, and consultant agreements. Prior to joining Pfizer, Ms. Bang created a new central office for clinical and health services research at the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. She has also held various leadership and clinical trials management positions at the New York University School of Medicine, as director of the Winthrop University Health System Clinical Trial Network, and as a senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Ms. Bang is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She led a project to improve the contract cycle time at U.S. academic medical centers, which achieved a 55% improvement during its first quarter of implementation. She is a contributing author to the PricewaterhouseCoopers Institutional Review Board Reference Book and was an adjunct assistant professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine’s master’s program in clinical research administration from 2002 to 2009. Ms. Bang is a past president of the New York Metropolitan Chapter of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
Ms. Bang received her master’s degree in health services administration from The George Washington University and completed an administrative fellowship at Johns Hopkins Health System and Hospital.
