Valeriani Bead

Valeriani R. Bead, MD, is a cardiologist at Cardiology Associates, LLC, an affiliate of MedStar Health. His background includes experience in clinical cardiology, as well as in the use of nuclear imaging techniques for testing of heart functioning, stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and electrocardiogram and echocardiogram interpretation. He is Level II trained in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.

Dr. Bead has presented his work at meetings of professional societies. His presentation on "Racial disparities in response to angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor (ACE) inhibitors and beta-blockers in patients with congestive heart failure" received an award from the American College of Physicians. His work has been published in journals, including Heart and The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. He is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology and the Association of Black Cardiologists. In addition, he is board certified in internal medicine and cardiology.

Dr. Bead's medical degree is from the Drexel University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he also worked as assistant chief of service. He completed a fellowship in Adult Cardiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
