Vice President of Human Resources
As vice president of Human Resources for MedStar Medical Group (MMG), Roby Hunt oversees the development and implementation of MMG’s people strategy. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that the medical group is attracting, developing, and retaining the top physicians and associates needed to achieve its mission. He oversees all areas of human resources, including physician recruitment, talent management, compensation, benefits, employee education and development for both MMG and MedStar National Rehabilitation Network.

Hunt has more than 25 years of experience leading human resources for nonprofit health systems, hospitals, and physician groups. Prior to arriving at MMG, he served as chief human resources officer at the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, D.C., and as the human resources administrator at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was also corporate vice president of Human Resources Effectiveness for Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health) in San Francisco, California and director of Human Resources at Shriners’ Hospitals for Children in Sacramento, California.

Hunt earned his bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and is certified as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute.
