2018 Power to Heal Fund Initiatives

Our campaign focus is to support, enhance, and sustain a selection of patient experience initiatives. In collaboration with leadership and the Power to Heal Campaign Committees, we have developed specific initiatives that will benefit the patient and family care experience at our entities.

MedStar Health

Supports the capital costs for the creation of one or more telehealth operation centers across the MedStar Health system. These centers will delivery reliable and efficient virtual care to our patients and provide consultations to our care teams.

MedStar Ambulatory Services

Supports patient transportation to and from appointments at various ambulatory clinical sites 
 
 

MedStar Medical Education

Supports MedStar Health medical education programs

MedStar Health Institute for Quality and Safety

Supports the Quality and Safety Education Fund, benefiting Patient Safety Summer Camp scholarships for graduate medical residents and health sciences students

 

MedStar Health Research Institute

 
Supports the New Investigator’s Grant Fund to establish the careers of investigators who are new to MedStar Health
 
 

MedStar Institute for Innovation

 
Supports innovation and creativity to achieve the Institute’s mission
 
 

MedStar SiTEL

MedStar Sports Medicine

Supports the PlayMore! Youth Symposium to educate local youth sports organizations and coaches about the culture of youth sports

 

MedStar Visiting Nurse Association

Supports the Quality of Life Fund to provide support to patients who lack the financial means to buy medical supplies, prescription medicines, or daily living necessities

MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center

Supports the construction of the garden space outside of the new surgical pavilion
 
 

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

Supports patient comfort and ease during construction of the Medical/Surgical Pavilion.
 

MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital

Supports the purchase of equipment and other items needed for the new Inpatient Rehabilitation Center

MedStar Harbor Hospital

Supports the purchase of outdoor furniture for patients, visitors, and staff to relax away from clinical space

 
 

MedStar Montgomery Medical Center

Supports the establishment of an arts and humanities program to integrate music and visual arts into the healing process

 
 

MedStar National Rehabilitation Network

Inpatient fund supports the enhancement and refurbishment of the northside therapeutic garden; Outpatient fund supports transportation for patients to and from therapy appointments at various network sites

MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center

Supports the emergency department capital renovation and expansion project by providing furnishings to the waiting room and updates for the behavioral health and trauma area

MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital

Supports the enhancement of the ambulatory surgery waiting room lobby

 
 

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital

Supports the purchase and installation of equipment to launch a pilot project to develop and test new technology that will enhance communications with inpatients using strategies such as smart white boards or smart TVs

MedStar Washington Hospital Center

Supports the purchase of new, state of the art equipment for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
