Is MedStar Health a 501(c)3 charity?
Yes, we are a not-for-profit healthcare organization. Our tax identification number is 52-2087445.
What types of third party platforms can I use?
You may use any third-party platform of your choice, such as Facebook or GoFundMe, but MedStar Health cannot extend tax exemption. This means donors to your page will not be provided a charitable gift acknowledgment letter from MedStar Health.
If you would like to utilize the charity page option for GoFundMe, please contact our team to help facilitate.
How do I select what the gifts will benefit?
MedStar Health offers a number of services to the community. Contact us to learn more about those services and what your fundraiser can benefit.

Can I use the MedStar Health logo and name in my fundraiser?
If the organizer is interested in using the logo of MedStar Health, he/she must obtain permission from MedStar Health. All materials with MedStar Health’s name and/or logo must be approved before they are distributed.
Will MedStar Health promote my fundraiser?
MedStar Health cannot guarantee promotion through digital, print or media channels.
Can MedStar Health share its donor list?
No, MedStar Health cannot provide contact information of its corporate sponsors, donors and supporters under any circumstances.

What is the difference between a crowdfunding event and a third party event?
A third party event includes hosting an in-person or virtual fundraising event where the organizer is requesting donations, ticket sales, and other philanthropic participation from its attendees. A crowdfunding event allows the organizer to ask contacts, friends, and family to participate in our worthwhile cause.
