Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at MedStar Washington Hospital Center / MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

The Georgetown University / Washington Hospital Center Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program is a distinguished fellowship program, providing fellows with exceptional training and research opportunities in Washington, D.C.

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital Center are both part of MedStar Health. The merger of their respective cardiology fellowship programs in July 2003 created a rigorous training program that takes advantage of the strengths of both institutions.

Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship

The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship is a three-year program and is ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited. The program accepts six fellows every year. Learn more about us.

Cardiovascular Disease Faculty

Through the guidance of experienced clinicians who are experts in one or more of the cardiac subspecialties, fellows develop a strong foundation in cardiology, which leads to opportunities to focus on any area of cardiovascular disease, including:

  • Office practice and preventive cardiology
  • Echocardiography
  • Advanced non-invasive imaging
  • Electrophysiology
  • Interventional cardiology
  • Research
