Combined Family Medicine-Preventive Medicine Residency at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center

Please visit the Johns Hopkins General Preventive Medicine Residency webpage for information about the program.

Application process

  • Apply for the combined program in "ERAS", under the Franklin Square Family Medicine program
  • You must also apply to the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health for the MPH/Residency program using the School of Public Health's online application form that can be accessed here: Admissions Office (Acceptance by the school's MPH program is required for admission to the joint residency program.)
  • Applicants to the training program should select "MPH/Residency Programs" as their degree program, and indicate a start date one year later than the start date of the Family Medicine year. If you plan to begin the joint program in July 2013, you would use a July 2014 start date for the GPMR/MPH part of the program.
  • Once you have clicked on the link for the Admissions office above, be sure to go to "Application Instructions" and read the instructions before beginning your online application

Please note: Application documents in ERAS may be used for your Hopkins application except for official transcripts from your undergraduate and medical school programs. These documents must be sent directly from your school to the School of Public Health Admissions Office.

The residency program and the MPH admissions committee will review applications once your application is complete.

Application Deadline and Interview Process

Completed applications for the School of Public Health must be received in the Admissions Office by December 1 each year. Interviews are usually held in December, January and/or February. While we will do our best to coordinate interviews, the volume of applications and interviews for both programs may result in separate scheduling.
