Lauren Gordon, MD

Lauren Gordon, MDDirector of Women's Health

"After completing my residency and fellowship, I joined the faculty here at MedStar Franklin Square. I was excited to start my career in such an amazing place (although I am biased). I look upon my role here as multi-faceted. I am the director of the women's health curriculum. I organize the lecture series, supervise colposcopy/IUD/Nexplanon insertion clinic, review the obstetrical charts weekly, coordinate the gynecology rotation and precept deliveries.

Aside from women's health, I have an interest in community and global medicine, particularly as it relates to children and women. I am the coordinator for the Women's Cancer Protection Program (WCPP), for which the Family Health Center is a designated site. WCPP is a grant from the state that supports breast and cervical cancer screening for women without medical coverage. I also serve on several local committees including the Med Chi's maternal-Child Health Committee, Baltimore Regional Perinatal Advisory Committee, and the board of Planned Parenthood of Maryland. I am currently in the process of developing a global medicine curriculum and have traveled to Honduras twice over the past year."
