Netra Thakur, MD

Associate Program Director

Dr. Thakur notes how she has always enjoyed the teamwork and camaraderie of a dynamic residency program. She considers herself lucky to have been a member of three family medicine programs, either as a resident, fellow, or faculty. After her fellowship at UPMC St. Margaret, she joined the Thomas Jefferson Family Medicine department and stayed as faculty for five years. She left to join her husband in Baltimore and spent a year in private practice. She has been on staff at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center since 2004, and has enjoyed her role as the associate program director and overseeing the ambulatory curriculum. She is passionate about women's health and also has a strong interest in resident education and evaluation. When not at work, you can catch Dr. Thakur at her other "job" of running after her two high energy sons.
