Women Health

The Women's Health curriculum is designed to broaden the residents' knowledge, skills and attitudes related to the care of women. Didactic and experiential modules have been developed in areas including: the breast and pelvic exams (including office-based lab tests), diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted diseases, management of contraception, recognition and management of menopause with its associated health issues, and domestic violence.

Residents practice these skills in the outpatient setting by providing gynecologic primary care of patients in the Primary Care Center, including annual gynecologic screening exams. In addition, cancer screening exams are performed for women referred to our office by the Baltimore County Women's Cancer Prevention Program.

Our goal is to train physicians to provide sensitive, safe and compassionate care for our women patients.
