Upon graduation from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, Dr. Fuscaldo entered a combined Internal Medicine / Pediatrics Residency Program at the Medical Center of Delaware and Thomas Jefferson University - A. I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. After residency, he joined the faculty in general internal medicine and pediatrics at West Virginia University, Charleston Division. He relocated to Baltimore in 2002 as a hospitalist in the University of Maryland School of Medicine Health System. He became a lead hospitalist and worked closely with residents and medical students as an assistant professor of medicine. In 2005, Dr. Fuscaldo came to MedStar Franklin Square where he is now the Medical Director of the Primary Care Center as well as an Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Fuscaldo has special interest in wellness and preventive medicine. He teaches in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Aysegul Gozu, MD, MPH, FACP

After completing her internal medicine fellowship at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Gozu joined the core faculty in the department of medicine at MedStar Franklin Square, where she is also the Research Director. Dr. Gozu is also an attending physician in MedStar Franklin Square's Primary Care Center. She also runs the Journal Club for the Internal Medicine Residents, which encourages the residents to review and present current clinical publications. She is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland. Dr. Gozu is also an attending on the medical inpatient teaching service. She has been published numerous times and has reviewed articles.

Dr. Padmanabhan began his medical training in India, where he graduated from the Armed Forces Medical College, and then completed a rotating internship as well as Nuclear Medicine Training. He then came to the United States, for a master's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of California, San Diego. In 2000, he completed his residency training at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. After residency, he did a Cardiology Fellowship at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles California. He also received his Masters of Public Health from UCLA during this time. After completing his cardiology fellowship, Dr. Padmanabhan moved to the east coast to complete a Cardiac MRI fellowship at the National Institute of Health, which was followed up with CT Angiography training at Johns Hopkins University. In 2005, he became the director of the Cardiovascular MRI & CT at the Mid-Atlantic Cardiovascular Associates in Baltimore. In 2008, he became the Section Chief of the Department of Cardiology at MedStar Franklin Square. In the same year, he received the Distinguished Attending of the Year award from the Internal Medicine Residents. Dr. Padmanabhan has been extensively published in many journals and book chapters.

Dr. Meininger completed his medical training at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1997, after receiving a bachelor of science degree in economics and a bachelor of applied science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed his internal medicine residency as well as his cardiology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has also completed a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins. In 2005 he joined Mid-Atlantic Cardiology Associates at their MedStar Franklin Square location. In 2010, he became the Associate Chief of Cardiology and the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at MedStar Franklin Square. Dr. Meininger is an attending physician on the cardiology service at MedStar Franklin Square as well as a clinical assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland. He has published numerous peer reviewed articles in many respected medical journals.

Dr. Sheridan graduated form the University of Maryland Medical School, he completed his internal medicine residency at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, where he also was a chief resident. He then went onto complete his clinical fellowship in Pulmonary medicine along with a postdoctoral fellowship in Pulmonary Disease at Johns Hopkins University. In 1982, Dr. Sheridan became the Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services at MedStar Franklin Square, a position he still holds today. He also is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. Dr. Sheridan has a private practice and still sees patients on the inpatient pulmonology service.

Gastroenterology

A. Steven Fleisher, MD, AGAF

Dr. Fleisher began his medical career in Johannesburg, South Africa with an internship in Internal Medicine and Surgery at the Baragwanath Teaching Hospital. He then came to the United States to do his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital in Internal Medicine Program, which was followed by a chief residency at the same location. Dr. Fleisher then went on to complete a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Maryland. Upon the completion of his fellowship, Dr. Fleisher went into private practice in 2001 before becoming the Director of Endoscopic Ultrasound at St. Joseph's Hospital in 2006. In 2009, Dr. Fleisher came to MedStar Franklin Square as the Gastroenterology Section Chief as well as the Director of Interventional Gastroenterology, titles he currently holds. Dr. Fleisher has published many peer reviewed articles as well as book chapters.

Dr. Al-Talib is a board certified physician in Internal medicine and Nephrology. He began his medical career as an Internal Medicine and Dermatology resident and instructor in Baghdad, Iraq at the Medical City University & Teaching Hospital. He then moved to London, England in 1986 where he completed a fellowship at St. John's Hospital for Diseases of the Skin and Hammersmith Hospital. In 1988, Dr. Al-Talib moved to the United States to complete an Internal Medicine Residency at Maryland General Hospital, where he also became a chief resident. In 1991, he began his fellowship training in Nephrology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. After completing his fellowship in 1993, Dr. Al-Talib joined the Johns Hopkins Bayview Physicians faculty and was an instructor in Medicine. He joined the MedStar Franklin Square medical staff in 1993 as a staff nephrologist and teaching attending. In 2006 he was nominated to become the President of the Medical staff and served in that capacity from 2006-2008. He was nominated for and awarded the Fellowships of American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology. More recently he was listed in Baltimore Magazine's "Top Doc" issue as chosen by his peers. Dr. Al Talib maintains his own private practice and serves as a nephrology and teaching attending. His main interest is management of chronic kidney disease and associated complications and has published peer reviewed articles

Dr. Fleishman completed his neurology residency training at UMDNJ - University Hospital in New Jersey, where he was also a chief resident. After he completed his residency training, Dr. Fleishman joined the MedStar Franklin Square community as an Associate Director in the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology. In 1997, he was promoted to the Director of the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology and became the section chief of Neurology. Dr. Fleishman is also a clinical instructor at the Johns Hopkins Hospital as well as a licensed acupuncturist. In 2003, Dr. Fleishman became the Director of the Stroke Unit at MedStar Franklin Square.

After Dr. Hauptman completed his residency training in Internal Medicine, he completed a Rheumatology, Immunology, and Connective Tissue Diseases Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. In 1987, Dr. Hauptman joined the MedStar Franklin Square community as a Teaching Attending. In 1992, he became the Section Chief of Rheumatology at MedStar Franklin Square, a title he still holds today. Dr. Hauptman is also a clinical instructor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University.

Nuclear Medicine

Gabriel Soudry, MD

Dr. Soudry began his medical career in France, with the completion of a General Medicine residency. He then came to the United States, where he completed his Internal Medicine residency at MedStar Franklin Square, and then went on to a Nuclear Medicine Fellowship at the Joint Program of Nuclear Medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. After he completed his fellowship training, Dr. Soudry returned to MedStar Franklin Square as an associate physician in the Nuclear Medicine Department. In 2001, Dr. Soudry became the section chief of Nuclear Medicine and Director for PET-CT services. He is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland. Dr. Soudry is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University where he regularly lectures the Nuclear Medicine residents. In November, 2010, Dr. Soudry was recognized as a "Top Doctor" by Baltimore Magazine in the Nuclear Medicine category. Dr. Soudry has published many original research manuscripts as well as review articles and given numerous speech presentations.
