MEDICAL STUDENT ELECTIVES/ROTATIONS

Our program uses only VSAS (Visiting Student Application Service) through the Georgetown University School of Medicine for visiting fourth year elective applications. Please visit the Visiting Students Program page for more information on the elective application process.

Students who serve electives at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital/MedStar Washington Hospital Center Ophthalmology Residency Program are exposed to a myriad of ophthalmic conditions, diseases, and clinical and surgical procedures, presenting patients with their assigned residents to attending physicians. They also have the opportunity to actively participate in the didactic program by making case presentations or presenting brief research projects.
