Applicant Information - Orthopaedic Surgery at MedStar Georgetown

The MedStar Georgetown program participates in the National Residency Matching Program. Applications are to be submitted via the ERAS system and NO supplemental application is required. The deadline for documents is October 15. Typically, candidates are interviewed in early December. Interviews are conducted over a half day, on either a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Candidates are provided with a welcome by the chairman and program director over either breakfast or lunch, depending on the interview day.

The candidates are interviewed by several members of the faculty and chief residents. The usual tour of the MedStar Georgetown facility will be offered to the candidates as a group. The interview process should be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday and by 1 p.m. on Saturday. Candidates are welcomed to attend an informal dinner with residents only on Friday.

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is about 20 minutes from Reagan National Airport and about 45 minutes from Dulles. Using BWI is difficult due to unpredictable traffic in the region. We do have one unusual requirement of our candidates: you may NOT wear "an interview suit". Please be comfortable for your interview.
