Critical to each resident's educational experience (although not
always apparent to them at the time) is the exposure to the
orthopaedic outpatient. Not only is this an important part of
orthopaedic practice but it provides the resident with the much
needed opportunity to experience continuity of care: preop,
intraop and postop.
Each resident despite rotation location spends at least two half
days per week in an outpatient venue. The experiences are tightly
structured in order that the residents sees patients he or she
has seen in the hospital setting.
