Kelly Haynie, DHA, MPA, is the vice president of Operations at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. In his role, Haynie provides executive leadership, direction, and oversight for the hospital’s clinical and non-clinical support service operations and project management.
Prior to joining MedStar Southern Maryland, he served as the assistant vice president of Operations at MedStar Harbor Hospital, and before that was the senior director of Support Services at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center.
Haynie began his career at the MedStar Health Institution for Innovation (MI2) and MedStar Simulation Training & Education Lab in 2012, serving in several progressive leadership roles before becoming director of Operations, Experiential Learning in 2016.
A former staff sergeant with the Maryland Army National Guard, Kelly holds a Doctorate in Health Administration from Capella University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore. He is currently a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the National Association of Health Service Executives, and the International Association of Emergency Managers.
