Christina Smith
As OR Director for Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, Christina is responsible for the management and direction of the operational, personnel, and financial activities of the department. Christina works collaboratively with the AVP, chairman of dept of surgery, anesthesia, and hospital administration. She combines her knowledge, skills, and OR experience to manage the day-to-day functioning of the operating rooms. Christina started her OR experience as a new nurse at MedStar Georgetown in 2003 and this is where her passion began for operating room nursing. Prior to her promotion to the role of OR Director, she served as OR Clinical Manager over Orthopedic, Robotic, Thoracic, and Urology service lines. Christina has a strong commitment to the OR and health care. She makes an impact through her love for teaching and working closely with surgeons and anesthesia daily to ensure efficient and quality patient care. At home, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son, baking, cooking, and traveling.
