Are you a candidate for Intrabeam?
Intrabeam technology (also referred to as intraoperative radiation therapy, or IORT) is a single-dose radiation treatment delivered in the operating room immediately following a partial mastectomy/lumpectomy. An ideal candidate for Intrabeam is typically
- A woman 50 and over
- Whose tumor is three centimeters in size (just over an inch) or smaller
- Non-lobular and both estrogen- and progesterone-positive
A consultation with our care team, including an evaluation by both a breast surgeon and radiation oncologist, is necessary to determine if you are a candidate.

- Daily temperature/symptom check points at our oncology outpatient center
- Mandatory mask policy for all patients, visitors, and associates
- Increased cleaning and disinfecting services
- Strict physical distancing practices through staggered appointment times and reconfigured waiting areas

Breast cancer program safety
- If you need breast cancer surgery, a COVID-19 test will be provided to you before your procedure
- Tumor board meetings take place with all the doctors involved in your care to review enhanced practice guidelines
