About me
David Stein, MD, is Regional Chief of Surgery for MedStar Health, overseeing quality, safety, and market leadership initiatives at each of the four MedStar Health hospitals located in the Baltimore Region.
In tandem, Dr. Stein serves as Chairman of Surgery at MedStar Franklin Square. In this role, he is focused on the development and implementation of an innovative, outcomes- optimized surgical services program, to benefit patients undergoing general, minimally invasive, and robotic procedures in the hospital’s state-of-the-art, 82,000 square-foot Surgical Pavilion.
Dr. Stein joined MedStar Health after devoting the majority of his early career years to Drexel University College of Medicine. His most recent roles within the institution included Chairman of the Department of Surgery and Associate Dean of Clinical Operations, while also serving as a Professor of Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colorectal Surgery, and is a member of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.
