About me
David L. Pearle, MD, is a professor of Medicine at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Pearle has repeatedly been recognized as a top doctor by multiple organizations, including Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctors, America's Top Physicians by Consumer's Research Council of America, Best Doctors in America by Best Doctors, Inc., Top Doctors in the Washington Area by Washington Consumers' Checkbook, and Top-Rated Docs by Northern Virginia magazine. He is the author of more than 45 research publications in the fields of heart failure, acute coronary care, and interventional cardiology. He served on the national committee that developed the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology (AHA/ACC) guidelines for the care of patients with acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).
Dr. Pearle served for six years is acting chief of the Cardiology Division. At various times, he has served at MedStar Georgetown as the director of the Coronary Care Unit, the director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and the director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program. He was a two-term president of the American Heart Association Nation's Capital Affiliate. He is a frequent invited speaker for both medical and lay audiences.
