Dawn Owens, RN, MBA, OCN, brings more than 20 years of nursing and leadership experience to her position as interim Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services.

Owens joined MedStar Harbor Hospital in 2015 with the desire to make a difference in the community and the patients we serve. Passionate about oncology care and building relationships with both her patients and their families, Owens served as a nurse manager for several clinical units, including oncology, women’s care, and behavioral health.

Prior to joining MedStar Health, Owens served as a clinical manager for the Tulane Medical Center Outpatient Cancer Center and nurse manager for the Inpatient Oncology Unit at Sibley Memorial Hospital. In 2009, she came to Baltimore as a nurse manager for multiple clinical units at Sinai Hospital, including oncology, gynecology, behavioral health, and outpatient infusion. She then served as the director of clinical operations at the Sinai Hospital Lapidus Cancer Institute.

Owens earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Dillard University and her MBA with a concentration in healthcare management from the University of Phoenix.
