About me
Andrea Singer, MD, FACP, CCD, is associate professor and chief, Division of Women's Primary Care and director of bone densitometry, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Singer is also associate professor in the Department of Medicine and medical director, VIP Health Check.
Dr. Singer's clinical areas of expertise are women's primary care, osteoporosis, bone densitometry, osteoporosis, secondary fracture prevention, menopause, sexual health and medical and gynecologic disease.
She is board certified in internal medicine and is a certified clinical densitometrist for interpretation of bone density testing. Dr. Singer is also clinical director of the National Osteoporosis Foundation.
Although she is not accepting new patients at this time, Dr. Singer does accept referrals of male and female patients for evaluation, consultation, or treatment of osteoporosis and related disorders.
In addition, Dr. Singer has established a post-fracture care program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Any patient age 50 or older who has incurred a low-trauma fracture that might indicate osteoporosis can get evaluation and treatment to prevent a second fracture.
When consulting with osteoporosis patients, Dr. Singer believes in a collaborative approach. She takes time to explain risks and benefits to her patients so they can make an educated decision in their treatment.
Dr. Singer has also received a Sexual Health Counseling Certificate from the University of Michigan's School of Social Work, and accepts referrals of men and women for sexuality education and counseling.
