Carol Murugi Kimani, AGACNP-BC

Carol Kimani, MSN, AGACNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner with more than 10 years of experience caring for patients in acute care settings.  Part of the gastroenterology team at MedStar Health, she works collaboratively with MedStar Health’s board-certified gastroenterology physicians providing comprehensive care to adult patients with a diverse range of gastrointestinal tract disorders. 

Ms. Kimani most recently works in the Gastroenterology unit at MedStar Harbor Hospital where she cares for acutely ill patients presenting with GI tract disorders. Prior to joining MedStar Health, she was an acute care NP in the Abdominal Transplant unit at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She also spent several  years as a resource float nurse at UCLA Medical Center and as a registered nurse in the Post-Surgical and Telemetry units at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, in Los Angeles. Earlier in her career, she worked in the Medical Surgical unit at Southern California Hospital in Culver City. 

Ms. Kimani is a board-certified as an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. 

She speaks fluent English and Swahili, knows basic Spanish, and can also speak a few Kenyan dialects.
