About me
Chelsea McCracken, CRNP, is a certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner at MedStar Health Cardiology at Annapolis Medical Parkway. She specializes in cardiovascular disease and provides comprehensive preoperative cardiac evaluations for patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery. In her role, Chelsea reviews medical histories, assesses cardiac risk, and guides medication management to optimize patient safety before surgery. She collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate testing and care planning, with a focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered communication.
Prior to joining MedStar Health, Chelsea served as an acute care nurse practitioner in both intensive care and transplant surgery settings. She managed critically ill medical and surgical patients, led multidisciplinary rounds, and performed advanced procedures including intubation, arterial line placement, and ventilator management. Previously at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, she provided care for post operative transplant patients and participated in transplant education initiatives. Chelsea began her career as a registered ICU nurse, where she achieved Level III Clinical Ladder status and contributed to hospital-wide safety councils.
