About me
Jacob Reiss, MD, is a cardiologist and is board-certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound.
Dr. Reiss diagnoses and treats a broad spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, including treatment-resistant hypertension, lipid disorders, coronary heart disease, and congestive heart failure. He performs specialized diagnostic procedures such as transesophageal echocardiograms and cardioversion and is especially interested in diagnosing and treating peripheral vascular disease.
A strong advocate for preventive cardiology, Dr. Reiss guides patients in lifestyle modifications and appropriate screenings to promote long-term heart health. He provides comprehensive education on the disease process, available treatments, and medications, empowering patients to actively participate in their care and improve their quality of life.
Dr. Reiss earned his medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Lankenau Medical Center, where he served as Chief Medical Resident, and went on to complete his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center, serving as Chief Cardiovascular Disease Fellow.
Dr. Reiss has been recognized for his excellence as a clinician, educator, and leader. He was twice named best teaching resident at Lankenau Medical Center. He also won the John Zachariah Humanitarian Award and the Andrew Norton, MD, Residency Leadership Award.
A husband and father of two, Dr. Reiss enjoys spending time with his family and playing or watching tennis, and basketball.
Philosophy of care “I strive to treat every patient as a member of my family, taking time to listen and understand their values, goals, and lifestyle. I believe in a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to heart care, with a strong focus on prevention through education, early detection, and proactive management.”
