About me
Pedro Emilio Alcedo, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified hematologist. His area of special expertise and interest is thrombotic disorders (formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel that obstructs the flow of blood through the circulatory system).
Dr. Alcedo earned his medical degree and completed a residency at Los Andes University, Venezuela. He completed his internal medicine residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas and a fellowship in hematology at the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute.
He is an active researcher and is currently working on several studies with the Laboratory of Vascular Thrombosis and Inflammation at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health. Dr. Alcedo’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including Oncology & Hematology Review, European Journal of Haematology, and British Journal of Haematology.
