About me

Dr. Bead is a board-certified cardiologist who is Level II trained in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. He has extensive experience in preventive care, nuclear imaging techniques for testing of heart functioning, stress echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, and electrocardiogram and echocardiogram interpretation.

His research has been published in medical journals such as Heart and The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and he serves as lead investigator and co-investigator on several clinical trials through the MedStar Research Institute.

Dr. Bead is also an award-winning speaker who has presented on general and preventive cardiology at national medical conferences and local and state meetings.

Patient-doctor communication is very important to Dr. Bead. He makes himself available to patients through email and a dedicated phone line. He believes in working closely with his patients and their referring physicians to ensure that all understand the patient’s cardiac risks and outcomes, and overall plan for patient care.
