Hanna Blaney

Hanna Blaney, MD, MPH

PGY-7 - July 2024

Hanna completed her Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Maryland—National Institute of Health Track. Her area of academic interest is alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD). Currently studying the interaction between hepatology and inpatient treatment programs for alcohol use disorder. Additionally, she is studying the changes within the livers of patients with heavy alcohol use after alcohol is withdrawn, with the aim to better identify patients with early ALD. In addition to ALD, she is interested in healthcare disparities in gastrointestinal care and have an interest in global health. Outside of the hospital, Hanna enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and enjoying delicious food.

Christopher Coe

Christopher Coe, MD

PGY-7 - July 2024

Christopher was born in Bethesda, Maryland. He earned his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College where he majored in molecular biology and biochemistry and obtained a minor in Modern Standard Arabic. He met his wife, Laura, in medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. After graduating, they moved together to Nashville for residency at Vanderbilt. After staying on for a year as a hospitalist, Christopher and Laura moved West again to Los Angeles for fellowship. After completing his GI fellowship at UCLA, Christopher was excited to move back to the DC and begin a transplant hepatology fellowship at MedStar Georgetown. He speaks Spanish and is working on rehabilitating his rusty Arabic. He and Laura have a baby daughter, Jade.
