Ms. Milicia is a Research Associate at the MedStar National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. She holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from Furman University and is currently a candidate for her Master of Public Health in Global Health Epidemiology and Disease Control at George Washington University. Her clinical experiences in different areas of medicine as well as her background in public health has allowed her to apply her experiences to the Human Factors Center’s projects. Ms. Milicia has experience with data collection, chart abstraction methods, and electronic medical record systems. She currently supports Dr. Miller's Patient Safety Learning Lab project funded by AHRQ. Prior to joining the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors, Ms. Milicia worked as a medical scribe in Orthopedic surgery at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System where she helped improve physician work efficiency, helped facilitate the medical decision-making process, and improved patient experience.
