MedStar Researchers Present New Data on HCV Rates in Expanded Population


At CROI2017, MedStar Health Research Institute researchers presented new data on hepatitis C virus (HCV)-positive non-baby boomers. The research analyzed results from more than 300 participants, with no specific protocols for age, sex, or race. Risk factors that could contribute to HCV infections were documented among the participants, including opiate prescriptions, elevated liver function tests, drug use, high sexual behavior, renal disease, sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
