A capsule endoscopy is a study in which the patient swallows a pill which also serves as a video camera. This pill travels down along through your small intestine and transmits pictures to a recording device. This pill may help to identify sources of intestinal bleeding, polyps, ulcers, or tumors of the small intestine. The doctor will interpret the images once the study is complete. The small pill will pass naturally out when you have a bowel movement.
