MedStar Health Urgent Care is here for you. Whether you need to get tested for COVID-19 or schedule a vaccine appointment, we are committed to providing convenient, coordinated care.
Do you have COVID-19 Symptoms?
All patients seeking a COVID-19 test must see a provider for evaluation to determine which COVID test is right for them, including rapid testing. The only patients who can be tested without a full evaluation are those who are sent in with a referral for pre-op COVID testing.
Note: Some locations stop walk-in patients a few hours before closing when we have reached capacity for the day. If you plan to walk in during the evening hours, please call ahead or book online.
Are you without symptoms, but just need a well visit or COVID-19 testing?
Due to recent surges in patients seeking care, we are temporarily requiring the following visit types to be reservation-only (no walk-ins will be accepted):
- All physicals, including perioperative.
- Vaccines (PPD/Tb, flu, rabies, COVID, and Tdap).
COVID-19 testing options:
Testing turnaround and myMedStar Patient Portal
Asymptomatic patients who visit our Urgent Care sites for testing will have tests sent to an offsite laboratory, which could take 3-5 days to provide results. We encourage you to enroll in the MedStar Health Patient Portal so you have access to your results as soon as they become available. For patient portal support, please call 877-745-5656.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before you request a vaccine:
- Vaccine supply and appointments are limited. MedStar Health follows federal, state, and local eligibility guidelines regarding prioritization for vaccinating our patients. We ask for your patience as we do our best to serve the community.
- MedStar Health is committed to public health and safety. We encourage you to get your vaccine as soon as you are eligible and wherever you can get an appointment. It does not have to be at a facility operated by MedStar Health.
If you are currently under the care of the Veterans Administration (VA), you are required to receive your vaccine at a VA facility. For more information, please click here or contact your local VA health facility.
MedStar Health is not currently vaccinating patients in Virginia. If you want to sign up to get vaccinated, visit the Virginia Department of Health website or call the Virginia Department of Health hotline at 877-275-8343.
If you are a resident of the District of Columbia, you may request a vaccination appointment online from MedStar Health, through the DC Health portal, or by calling 855-363-0333.
